My wife, who is my high school sweetheart of 45 years, has been struggling for the past few years as a result of several strokes. She has been on tube feeding for more than a year. She is unable to walk or speak since her last stroke in November of 2024. Recently, there were complications with her feeding that prompted me to bring her to the ER, where she was admitted. When she was moved to a room, her assigned nurse was Thuy Nguyen. I very quickly realized that she was a very special person. She asked me so many questions in order to give her a complete understanding of my wife's condition and its history. Thuy could tell that I was deeply troubled by the situation and began caring for me as well as my wife. Thuy has a very upbeat personality, and the positive energy is very addictive.

On the second day of my wife's stay, Thuy was able to bring her out of her withdrawn state and even get her to speak and move her arms and legs to music. I hadn't heard my wife's voice in a year, and it filled me with such joy. Thuy is the reason that my wife is recovering and doing well at home. If anyone was ever deserving of special recognition, it is Thuy. She is the type of nurse who sets the bar high for all other nurses. She is truly special, and Integris Medical Center and all her patients are blessed to have her on staff.
