There are nurses who do their jobs well, and then there are nurses like TJ. TJ's compassion, selflessness, and dedication leave a lasting impact on everyone around them. TJ consistently goes above and beyond for both his patients and his coworkers, often at the expense of his own rest and time.

TJ has worked full night shifts and, when the unit is short-staffed, stayed well into the morning to ensure safe and compassionate patient care. After completing his overnight shift, TJ stayed until 11:00 a.m. to step in as an LNA when one of our LNAs had to leave unexpectedly. He did so without hesitation, simply because his team and his patients needed him.

TJ regularly stays late to medicate patients who are in pain, refusing to pass that responsibility on to the next shift. He takes the time during shift change to ambulate patients, prioritizing their comfort, dignity, and recovery even when it means staying beyond his scheduled hours.

TJ leads with heart. He is the nurse you hope is caring for your loved one and the coworker you are grateful to stand beside on the hardest days. He truly embodies the compassion, teamwork, and humanity that the DAISY Award represents.
