Theresa Felde has been a fantastic leader, and with all that she does for her team, it can only be best explained through the ICARE acronym. She exemplifies HCA’s ICARE values in the following ways. She demonstrates integrity through her work ethic. As soon as she steps into the office, she is all hands-on deck on getting tasks completed, emails answered and information disseminated. She leads the charge with any educational changes, provides directiveness and action to all education plans, and divides up the workload amongst her staff.

Theresa exemplifies compassion by showing interest in her staff’s needs, wants, and concerns. She welcomes staff members to her office with an open door and makes time for everyone who walks in. She exhibits accountability through her actions. When a new project starts, she makes sure to have all the answers before distributing the information to her staff. If questions arise, she performs follow-ups to make sure all points are addressed adequately. She will circle back with her staff on hot topics that keep coming up within the facility to make sure the team is aware of what we are educating on, the why behind the reason, and what we can do moving forward. 

She shows respect by taking the time to really listen to her staff members. She provides a listening ear and gives advice on courses of action related to the staff member’s concern or issue. She personifies excellence through her leadership skills. She sets the example for her staff as what a leader should be, in that she supports her team during projects and is often side-by-side with them doing the dirty work.

During our education department cleaning and reorganizing overhaul, she was right there with us, moving bags, boxes, and equipment. She is the very glue that keeps this team together and is the oil that keeps this education team running smoothly. We couldn’t do this without her. Thank you for all you do!
