It would be my wish that all nurses and staff have her level of care, compassion, patience, kindness, and joy.
I have been very sick, and my daughter came down with a cold and was unable to be with me for three days. I was very scared. I have a lot of health issues right now. This nurse went above and beyond in my treatment and care.

First, bladder issues, and I kept having to be changed and cleaned up. She does it with a smile on her face and treats me like a person. Second, all the health issues and meds are making me forget things and unable to, at times, process information. She remained patient and repeated the information to me. Third, she keeps up with my medication on time and again explains to me what they are and why I am taking them.

Fourth, she keeps in contact with all my doctors and is quick to ask them for what I need if they are not here. Fifth, she is upbeat and happy and brings joy and light into a room in my position. Currently, if I don’t get better, I can die.  She gives me hope and encouragement to stay positive and things can be okay.  She calms my fears when my daughter can’t be there.

The sixth and final one, you can hire a person to do a job, but you can’t pay them to care. This nurse cares very much for her patients and family members. I can see her showing the same to her fellow employees. It would be my wish that all nurses and staff have her level of care, compassion, patience, kindness, and joy. It helps people heal and have hope.

Thank you, Tessa
