If it wasn't for her acting as the wonderful nurse by respecting my fears, I probably would’ve continued refusing it. She deserves a lot of credit for how she handled that situation and slowly yet carefully got me to agree to fluids.
It is my strong conviction that Teressa is highly deserving of this award. She was on shift for the days that I was there and really helped me. I was able to open up and talk to her about what was going on with me. Teressa made sure that I got my meds on the exact times that they were due. If I needed a coffee or towels, she was always right on it when I would make those requests.

For example, I was having a terrible morning, my 2nd day here, and she had 4 patients, but still made me feel important and happy by treating me well despite all the other work she had to do. A second example is that she always went over my meds with me and educated me each time I asked about them. That really helped because I have an eating disorder and get really nervous about what is going into my body. The assurance and bedside manner really helped me during my stay.

My third example, and maybe the biggest one. She supported me during my complete meltdown of having to surrender to getting fluids. If it wasn't for her acting as the wonderful nurse by respecting my fears, I probably would’ve continued refusing it. She deserves a lot of credit for how she handled that situation and slowly yet carefully got me to agree to fluids. That was such a big deal because I always refuse them due to being fearful of what goes into my body. Teressa should be recognized for her impressive work. She inspired me a lot in my recovery. I am so thankful for her.
