My husband, daughter, and I came to Chattanooga to spend a fun overnight trip. On Sunday morning, I woke up very sick, very dizzy, very scared. We got to CHI Memorial hospital and from that point, everything got better. Everyone who dealt with us was amazing.

When admitted to my room, tests began. They were all so nice and efficient. Then we met my nurse (who was also the charge nurse.) She was amazing! I felt just like I had a very good friend I trusted taking care of me. She was always there to see if we needed anything, but sometimes she would just know I needed to talk or ask a question.

Remember, we’re out of town overnight. She always included my husband in “our” care. Made sure he wasn’t missing meals. Had pillow and blankets. Snacks for me when I missed a meal while having a test. She is amazing! We’ve been married for 53 years and I can’t explain the comfort it gave me, knowing when I left the floor for a test, she would be there, in case he needed anything. So very nice.

I don’t know if this is standard procedure, but we were checked out to go home and she made copies of my new meds, how to take them. List of all Doctors and their phone numbers, my diagnosis, and care orders. She even printed out a diet to help me with my new way of life. I did have a stroke and discovered some other problems too, but I was sent how with everything I needed written down! She was amazing.
