She utilizes outstanding communication skills and truly listens to everyone. She remembers people personally and, by doing so, Dr. Richardson builds strong relationships and partnerships to achieve outcomes that benefit others in need.
In addition to performing her job at an exemplary level, Dr. Teresa Richardson demonstrates extraordinary commitment to the University of Memphis and the college of nursing as well as to the general nursing community. With kindness and compassion, Dr. Richardson takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service to students, staff, and faculty. She quickly goes above and beyond standard job requirements to ensure the happiness of students and colleagues. For example, Dr. Richardson works closely with each student in the Executive Master of Nursing Program to ensure their role transition as nurse executives. She helps students discover and grow their special talents in nursing leadership. Dr. Richardson is an amazing colleague who understands and exemplifies teamwork and collaboration. She has served alongside colleagues to support the Student Nurse Research Forum for graduate and undergraduate students.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with colleagues to develop and offer a remote format for the research forum. Through her efforts and commitment, the college now has an alternative format for the Student Nurse Research Forum. Dr. Richardson is a wonderful ambassador for the university and the college of nursing.

As a nurse leader, she exhibits professional networking with nurses and other health care professionals across the community and nation-wide. Dr. Richardson has made a difference in our university, exemplified the mission of our college, and positively impacted students, faculty, and members of the nursing profession. As a nurse leader, Dr. Richardson understands the priority of building relationships to establish quality leadership. Her skills, knowledge, and willingness to help others, and dedication to the University of Memphis and nursing community make her an exemplary educator and outstanding role model, and a true DAISY Faculty Honoree.
