Tess was extremely helpful to me when I floated to her unit. Tess was busy with her 2-ICU patient assignment. She was constantly asking if I needed help, and she covered my lunch break. I happened to be the only RN with an empty bed, so by default, I received a MERT upgrade needing intubation. She was in the room immediately with supplies and assisted with the intubation. I did not even have to ask, she was there!

I would have been lost without her help. Keep in mind, she had a busy assignment herself. Floating to an unfamiliar unit is difficult for anyone, especially during a MERT/Code, but with Tess’s help, I survived. Tess goes above and beyond! She shows compassion, is a team player, and is extraordinary in my book.
