Terri really had my best interest at heart. She went above and beyond for me. I am a 14-year sufferer of occipital migraines. I have been on pain medications for 14 years, along with doctoring and testing to try to see what's going on with me. When I came in on Wednesday in the afternoon, Terri was my nurse. She is very sweet. Her demeanor was one of caring and that she was going to make me comfortable, whatever it took. That night about midnight, I was told my pain meds not only had been scaled down, but the time frame had been widened. I went into a state of panic and it brought on a MEGA migraine. I was told that a doctor had downgraded the meds because she could and she said I did not need that much for my injury. I have had this debilitating diagnosis for 14 years and have been on Percocet (opioids) for pain. After working in an acute care unit in the hospital for 18 years, I was astounded at what I was hearing. The next morning, Terri, came in and said, "you are not the same person you were yesterday." She asked me what was wrong, and I told her what had happened. I cried uncontrollably. My pain by then was a 100!! Terri went back and forth with the doctor to get this fixed. Actually, without Terri I would have left AMA. Terri bent over backward to try to help me feel better. Terri helped me through this, consoled me, and made me comfortable. She definitely needs commended for the compassion she showed me that day.
