I am honored to nominate Taylor Stamps for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional compassion, skills and commitment to nursing – on and off the clock. 

On Memorial Day weekend, Taylor was enjoying time on the river with her family, riding the boat and skiing. At the end of the day, when they were getting the boat out of the water at the dock, Taylor witnessed an emergency. An individual had collapsed and was in urgent need of medical attention. Taylor’s nursing instinct took over. She quickly assessed the situation, initiated CPR, and worked tirelessly until first responders arrived to stabilize the patient. Due to her immediate response and skilled intervention, the patient was successfully revived and transported to the nearest hospital. Remarkably, the same hospital where Taylor works, Northport DCH. The patient made a full recovery. This is a testament not only to the swift EMS care but also to Taylor’s presence, clinical expertise, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others, even off duty. 

This act of courage, selflessness, and commitment exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award. Taylor demonstrated what it truly means to be a nurse – someone who doesn’t just work a job but lives a calling. Her actions inspired everyone who witnessed the incident and made a life-saving difference to the patient and his family.
