While my Daddy was on the IMC unit a few weeks ago, Taylor Loving was one of his nurses. Taylor took great care of Daddy. Her knowledge and abilities as a nurse were obvious in the actions she took and explanations she provided. In addition to her duties and responsibilities, she showed concern for his condition while being sensitive to his wishes. I could tell she was sincere and wanted the very best for him. In addition to her duties as his nurse, she talked with Daddy. She listened to him, encouraged him, and showed true care and compassion. There were several times I had questions. If she didn’t have an immediate answer, she looked for and came back with the answer.

The most touching moments came when she checked on Daddy before the end of her rotation. On two different occasions, she came in to talk to Daddy. She told him she would be off for a couple of days and would check on him when she returned (and she did). She knelt by his bedside, showed him her badges, and explained what they were for. This captured Daddy’s attention, and they had sweet conversations.

Daddy had several nurses who were great at carrying out their duties and responsibilities. However, we will always remember the compassionate care that Taylor showed for Daddy.
