May 2026 Honoree
Taylor Hogan
I am honored to nominate Taylor for the DAISY Award. I had the privilege of having Taylor in both MedSurg II and pediatric clinical rotations, where she consistently demonstrated what it truly means to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Taylor stood out not only for her strong clinical knowledge and skills, but for her ability to connect with patients and families in a meaningful way.
In MedSurg II, Taylor approached each patient with professionalism, attention to detail, and a calm, reassuring presence. She was always eager to take on the most complex patients and consistently welcomed challenging assignments, demonstrating both confidence and a strong commitment to learning.
In pediatric clinicals, her compassion and patience truly shone, as she took extra time to comfort children and support anxious families, ensuring they felt heard, safe, and cared for. She formed a special connection with her pediatric patients and clearly found her calling in caring for the pediatric population.
Taylor has a natural ability to adapt her care to the needs of each patient. Whether managing complex adult patients or engaging with pediatric patients and their families, she always demonstrates empathy, strong communication, and advocacy for her patients.
In addition to her compassionate care, Taylor is highly motivated and always eager to learn. Her professionalism, teamwork, and positive attitude, paired with her sweet, calm demeanor, have made a lasting impression on her patients, fellow students, and the healthcare teams she has worked with.
What makes Taylor truly deserving of the DAISY Award is her ability to combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion. She has a remarkable gift of making patients feel truly seen, valued, and comforted during their most vulnerable moments. As Taylor transitions into professional nursing practice, I have full confidence she will continue to make a profound impact on the lives of her pediatric patients for many years to come.
