After a long flight from Hawaii back to Florida, my daughter developed severe GI symptoms and became lethargic, so I brought her to LRH for care. Taylor Adams was our nurse the next morning on the pediatric floor. She approached my daughter with gentleness, speaking softly, offering reassuring smiles, and using a caring touch that made a difficult situation without my husband feel a little less scary.

Taylor was incredibly attentive and patient, constantly checking on my daughter’s intake, offering different fluids for her to try, changing her diaper, and soothing her so I could catch up on rest. Even during moments when my daughter was fussy, tired, and uncomfortable, Taylor remained kind, compassionate, and understanding. She never made us feel like just another patient; she made us feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

What stood out most was her ability to connect not just clinically, but emotionally. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered every question with patience, and reassured me when I felt anxious. During the conversation, I mentioned how I prefer energy drinks over coffee but didn’t feel comfortable leaving my daughter's side to get one myself, and a few minutes later Taylor brought me the exact energy drink I said I liked after expressing how tired I was. Her dedication went beyond her duties, and it’s clear she truly cares about her patients and families. Later that evening, when we were discharging, my car was parked in valet on the other side of the hospital; Taylor offered help and carried our belongings while I carried my daughter. We are so thankful for the care Taylor provided for us; she is more than deserving of this recognition.

Thank you, Taylor, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
