The specialness about Tasha showed itself as soon as we explained our situation and she listened very well. My neighbor, B, was 99 and he had recovered from a broken hip, rehabbed, and was sent home. We were so proud that he worked so hard to get so strong; and then his heart started leaking and as you can imagine several trips to the hospital followed by rehab at 99, this takes a huge toll. All B wanted; was to be left alone so he could sleep. His only living relative had been up all night and had been helping him daily for three months, even though he lived three hours away. He asked for comfort care for his uncle. The nephew needed rest also, so I offered to stay with B. I was so relieved that Tasha heard us when we asked that they stop poking and prodding this tired man and let him pass if that was to be the case. I believe not all nurses would've been so helpful and kind at the moment we needed it the most. You see, I was only a neighbor stepping in to help two old men who needed help and I wasn't sure what I was agreeing to exactly. Tasha was so gentle, checked in on me often, and made sure my needs were being met; which all I really needed was her gentle smile and her caring eyes. I stayed until B passed. I cried all the good tears and now have a beautiful memory of that moment because Tasha made sure he passed comfortably.
