Tarry is an exemplary leader. Not only does she hold the unit to high standards, but she isn't above "getting her hands dirty" to make it happen. There was a patient with a difficult airway that needed extra hands for something as simple as a turn to ensure safety. Tarry, seeing the need for another nurse when none were available, stepped up to help. She even took the time to assist with a linen change and photographing the patient's sacrum when one wasn't able to be taken on admission. All of this, even when she knew she had to be at a meeting in 10 minutes, is why I would like to nominate Tarry for a DAISY Award. Because she puts her team and patients first.
