She provided my family with patience, kindness, and compassion during a difficult but exciting time.
My beautiful daughter was born in February 2025. As an employee of HCH and a coworker of Tammy, I found it a great blessing and honor that she was willing to care for me. My daughter was our miracle baby, and it was so important to my husband and me that things went smoothly.

Throughout my pregnancy, I wanted to avoid an induction if at all possible. When the prognosis of my father-in-law’s cancer became known, my husband and I knew we needed to go ahead and proceed with an induction. Once my induction date was chosen, I personally asked Tammy if she would care for me, and she said, without hesitation, “Yes!” In our field, caring for patients is a very personal experience, and caring for someone you know personally can sometimes make things uncomfortable. Tammy never hesitated. This gave me great comfort as I came into my induction.

Tammy made sure to explain everything, whether it was medication she was administering, a cervical exam, low blood pressure, etc. She maintained professionalism even though she had known me for the last 6 years and had a good understanding of my knowledge base. This became so comforting as what I thought I knew turned out to be completely different as the patient. Tammy gave not only me, but my husband the trust and comfort that everything was going to be okay. She provided my family with patience, kindness, and compassion during a difficult but exciting time. Tammy encouraged me to keep going when, at the time, things felt impossible.

Tammy will forever be a positive memory as we reminisce on the day our sweet miracle came into the world. She is an excellent nurse and should be very proud of her years of service in labor and delivery. While this career can be extremely difficult and scary at times, it is one of the most rewarding. Tammy made a huge difference in not only my experience but also my life. Tammy, I cannot thank you enough for playing such a huge role in my daughter's birth! You were meant to be a labor and delivery nurse, and I’m so happy to have been one of the lucky ones to experience this.
