During my clinical rotation at Palo Pinto General Hospital Heart Center, I had the privilege of working with Tammy McKinnon, LVN. Tammy made such a lasting impact on my experience. She is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. Tammy welcomed me with kindness and patience from the very beginning. She took the time to teach me and share her knowledge in a way that was encouraging and easy to understand. She has such a natural gift for guiding students and she made learning an enjoyable and meaningful experience.

Her bedside manner and patient care are exceptional- she treats every patient with compassion, dignity and respect. Watching the way she connected with her patients gave me an inspiring example of what excellent nursing looks like in practice. What stood out most was her sweet disposition and positive attitude. She has a calming, gently presence that makes both patients an students feel supported and valued. I am so thankful for everything I learned from her during this rotation and I will carry those lessons with me throughout my nursing career. Tammy is a true asset to the Palo Pinto General Hospital Heart Center and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from her.
