Tammy helped us feel 'normal' in our time of crisis and made sure we had the support we needed in place before we left the ER.
I just wanted to send an email, thanking you for the wonderful ER Mental Health Care services that you provide at Good Samaritan Hospital. I know this pandemic has been hard on everyone, and I was at a loss of what to do when my husband started experiencing crippling anxiety/panic attacks. We ended up in the ER, with a great doctor AND mental health services. I cannot remember the gal's name that we worked with, but all I know is the world needs more people like her. She not only saw my husband as a patient, but she really SAW him in his struggles and provided us not with just a couple of resources, but multiple. She checked our insurance, printed off lists of eligible counselors, therapists, psychiatrists for us. She gave us multiple TED talks to listen to in order to help us both have a better understanding of how to manage the attacks, coping strategies, gave us understandable advice, etc...I was incredibly impressed. She helped us feel 'normal' in our time of crisis and made sure we had the support we needed in place before we left the ER.

I am a high school teacher and know the need for accessible mental health services for ALL is so important. I am incredibly grateful to your ER for providing a trained professional to help us in our time of need. I want to advocate for continued mental health specialists in the ER, and additional services at your hospital. As I am sure you have seen, there has been a dramatic increase in the need for mental healthcare. Thank you for being one of the safe places that people can go when they need help. I will be honest, we debated whether to go here or another facility for our trip...and after our experience, we will be loyal Good Samaritan Hospital folks. Thank you so much for staffing and funding the services that are often overlooked or the last on the list. And thank you for being willing to hear our story and support for MHS.
