Tamara Piotrowski, RN BSN

I would like to nominate Tammy Piotrowski for the DAISY Award because she went absolutely above and beyond during one of the most emotional and vulnerable moments of my life. From the beginning of my labor and delivery experience, Tammy made me feel cared for, heard, and safe. As someone who was extremely nervous about my Caesarean section, I had a particularly difficult moment during the procedure when my anxiety took over. Tammy immediately recognized that I was struggling and went above and beyond to keep me calm, comforted, and reassured. Her presence, kindness, and compassion helped me relax during a moment that could have otherwise been incredibly frightening for me. She never made me feel like I was a burden or that my fears were insignificant. Instead, she stayed by my side and made sure I knew I was not alone. What made Tammy so special was that her care extended beyond just me. She took wonderful care of my newborn, made sure my husband felt supported, and even showed kindness and consideration toward my older daughter during our hospital stay. She treated our entire family with genuine compassion and made us feel like more than just another patient and family. Tammy’s compassion, patience, attentiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile made an unforgettable difference in our experience. I will always remember how she helped me through one of the most nervous moments of my life and made me feel safe when I needed it most. I am incredibly grateful that Tammy was part of such an important moment in our family’s life. She truly embodies what it means to be an exceptional nurse, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
