When I met Sydney for the first time, I was kind of bummed out, as I had been doing dialysis and was expected to have to continue. Sydney showed she understood why I would feel that way. She talked with me and helped me to understand that it was not the end of the world and that I had a lot of people that loved me (my wife, children and grandkids).

Sydney's smile and demeanor showed that she cared about me getting better. Always a smiling face, she always encouraged me to focus on the good in my recovery. When I got discharged, Sydney was off, and I so wish she had been there so that I could thank her to her face for everything she had done. A couple of weeks later, I was readmitted, and she was one of the first nurses I saw.

The smile on her face was very significant as it showed me how much she cared about me. There have been a couple of other times I have been hospitalized, and Sydney and I have had several talks about my health. The look in her eyes shows that she really cares about her patients.
