Suzanne effectively served as a lactation consultant, sharing several really important tips and excellent anticipatory guidance on what to expect in the days ahead with breastfeeding.
Words cannot do justice to Suzanne's care while I was in the postpartum unit after the delivery of our little girl. We had just had a difficult and sleepless night #2 with a crying baby, and Suzanne provided exquisite care in so many ways. She tended to every aspect: medical, physical, mental and emotional. She somehow synced up seamlessly with our feeding schedule to bring medications and check vitals in a way that allowed us to get some much-needed, uninterrupted sleep. She offered expert guidance based on medicine and her own personal experience. This was so valuable in helping us better soothe our little girl and optimize breastfeeding. Suzanne effectively served as a lactation consultant, sharing several really important tips and excellent anticipatory guidance on what to expect in the days ahead with breastfeeding. Without this information, we would have found ourselves in desperate circumstances.

She also advocated for me to be seen by OT/PT before discharge, which was hugely impactful for my recovery. She also offered incredible emotional support. When I was in tears, she was quick to tell me how normal that was and offered such a wise and gracious perspective on the emotions of this new chapter. She even helped us to discharge even though it was at a tricky time for her. Her discharge instructions were outstanding, with an excellent level of detail, advice, and clarity that so clearly exhibited her expertise and mastery over and above. She is the epitome of expert, empathic, and above-and-beyond patient care, and we were so lucky to have her! I cannot thank her enough for all she did for us, and I am brought to tears with gratitude just thinking about it.
