I checked in to Augusta Health for hip replacement surgery. Every Augusta Health staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful, and caring. Prepping for surgery again was a busy time with lots of people involved. I was wheeled into a room where I spent the rest of that afternoon, evening, and night. Totally numbed. I had an icepack on my hip, Rhythmic compressions on both legs, and was made as comfortable as possible during this time.

Since I had not eaten anything since the evening before, I was given a menu to choose from for my dinner and breakfast on Thursday morning. T, O, H, and Susanna were there to attend to my needs and each of them did an awesome job. They each laughed at my jokes as I had the opportunity to tell them. Susanna gave most of the personal care that evening and night. I turned out the lights at 10 pm but was not able to sleep until the nurses helped me get into the recliner at 1:30 am. Susanna emptied my urinal several times during the night and supplied me with ice water and a cup of hot water to relieve some pain in my throat. As mentioned, each of my nurses helped to make my stay as pleasant as possible, but Susanna added that personal touch as I asked her about herself. What a wonderful team you have!
