Susan is always an excellent nurse. She is exactly who you want to take care of the sickest patient in the department. Susan had this patient come in who, because of her swift interventions, had a far better outcome. He arrived hypo-everything, meaning basically every lab level and vital sign that could be low or abnormal was.

Susan got this patient quickly to imaging and was diligent when the patient seized, had a major GI bleed, and went into cardiac arrest. Her leadership and control over the code created an environment of excellent teamwork, and the patient survived because of it. He decompensated many times in the ER, and Susan was on top of it every time.

She always kept her cool and had a grasp of what was happening. Her compassion and diligence save lives, and I just think we all need to recognize this stellar nurse for her truly incredible work!
