Summer is an amazing nurse. She made me feel so much better physically and mentally.
We would like to recognize this RN on the 4th floor. She is nurse, caregiver, and she goes beyond her duties to care for her patients and is very loving to them and their families. She checks on them and she explains everything to them so they can understand it.

Summer is an amazing nurse. She made me feel so much better physically and mentally. I have a history with anxiety and have had a couple of attacks, but she helped me feel safe. She took the time to educate me on conditions I’m afraid/ashamed of. She is truly a pure soul with a heart of gold. She is so patient and gives her patients her full attention. She also educated me on more affordable options for purchasing my prescriptions. She has gone to the moon and back for me and truly made this whole experience a lot less scary. I hope to always have her as a nurse if I ever feel sick again. Not once did I receive any kind of judgment or attitude from her. When I’m scared and out of breath, she’s been the fastest at comforting me. I feel like she’s extremely intelligent and can check on all my symptoms before I even tell her. I can tell that nursing is a calling for her, and she’s compassionate, patient, kind, bubbly, selfless, etc. She made me feel a lot less alone while I’m here. I believe every single patient deserves a nurse like her. I can never thank her enough.

I don’t even know where to begin with one specific situation or story that demonstrates the difference in my care. From the moment I met her, I could immediately feel her genuine care and compassion for others. She so easily found ways to make me feel at ease and informed me about my plan of care. If I felt any discomfort or had a question, if she didn’t readily have a solution/answer, within no time, she would return with whatever I needed to settle my question or concern. I never felt like I was being cared for because it was her job. I could comfortably talk with her like she was a long-time friend. There was no cold/clinical interaction with her. She will forever be like family to me and my family. There is no limit to the things this woman can do to improve patient/staff relations.

This lady just has a way about her. She is someone who immediately makes you feel like you have known her for years. Someone who knows your struggles and is sympathetic to how those struggles can affect not only your physical health but also your emotional health. With ease, she made me feel like I wasn’t in this struggle alone. She suffered my setbacks with me and celebrated my successes, all the while keeping my spirits up. If I needed a laugh, she found a way to provide it; if I needed to vent, she listened with an empathetic ear; if I was uncomfortable or in pain, she searched for a solution. I pray that BMH and its staff are aware of the asset they have in her!
