Sue Smith, MSN, RN, CCHP-RN, the current Secretary and Program Committee Chair for the American Correctional Nurses Association, is one of the eight visionary nursing leaders who founded the American Correctional Nurses Association in 2020.

Her unwavering support for the organization has been demonstrated through the various roles she has held, the patience she has shown through teaching and mentoring of new members, and the continuous leadership in shaping the organization. She is a sought-after national presenter, participates in the Nurse Advisory Council for the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare, as well as numerous other national task forces, and has numerous publications to her name.
