March 2026 Honoree
Stephanie Robb, BSN, RN
I have many health issues and am considered a “medically complex” patient. I have had a lot of heart issues and diabetes that is not controlled as it should be.
I had my first heart attack at the age of 35. I had 3 clots form, and since then, I have had many stents, a triple bypass, and two more heart attacks. They diagnosed me with diabetes and estimated that I had had it for at least 5 years prior.
It had been extremely difficult. Finding someone that I connect well with has not been easy; I’ve had endocrinologists and case managers before but quit seeing them. My primary doctor suggested seeing an endocrinologist again, something I was hesitant to do. I gave it a chance, as I am having more heart issues and diabetes can contribute to it, especially when not controlled. I sit at an A1C of 12.
I went and saw BC, and she listened! I felt heard and understood- she was the one who recommended I give a case manager another try. This is how I met Ms. Stephanie Robb!
She has continuously called and checked up on me. She has shown she has been monitoring my blood sugars with the Dexcom and has been encouraging and supportive in my care. I ran into some challenges with not having the same insurance and waiting for Medicare Part B and Part D to kick in, and Stephanie took time to explore all possibilities in the meantime to help me stay on track. I felt like I was more than a monetary value, especially since I had no insurance at the moment. This has meant so much to me.
I am 47, a wife, and a mother and a foster mom. I want to live as long as I can. Having individuals like my PCP, Cardiologist care team, BC, and Ms. Robb helps me keep going with strength, perseverance, and motivation. You cannot put enough emphasis on this!
Thank you for taking the time to hear my personal experiences and hear what a huge impact this beautiful nurse has made on me!
