Stephanie is an amazing dialysis nurse. Not only is she amazing with our daughter, but with all of her patients. When my daughter first started out as a dialysis patient, she was nervous and very scared. Stephanie was the first person she confided in. She explains everything that she is doing and definitely knows her job very well. Stephanie keeps not only the patient up to date, but also the parents. She explained the dialysis machine to us and what to watch for. We recently took a family trip and had to do dialysis at another facility out of town. She had taught us so much and trained us so well that I was able to inform the other facility about what to look out for and ensure that everything was done properly. Whenever my daughter comes into the ER, the first thing she asks is, “Mom, can you call up to Dialysis and ask Stephanie to come down and see me?” Stephanie is not just a dialysis nurse; she is a part of our family. She makes our daughter feel comfortable whenever she is nervous about a visit to the ER. She builds a relationship with each one of her patients and their families. I would like to thank CHKD for hiring someone who genuinely cares about what she does. This definitely doesn't seem like it's a job for her; you can tell it's what she loves.
