It’s no surprise our children are our everything. In a time where you have anxiety, worry, and fear upon you, it’s always nice to have someone to call for help… but to have someone anticipate your every need is where you can see the difference between a good nurse and an extraordinary one.

Nurse Stephanie truly took every opportunity possible to make our hospital experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. It still sucked having a sick child and no nurse or doctor could ever take that away. But the little things make such a big difference. She was the night nurse for my son, and she did everything possible to give me the rest I desperately needed. She would come in and take his temp and vitals, and do it so quietly that it allowed me to get the rest I hadn’t gotten in days. This made me realize she’s the leader my son deserves to have on his team. Her gentle touch was not unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. Every question and concern was heard and answered accordingly, which can make the difference between a calm parent and a nervous, anxious, and stressed parent.

Thank you to the entire team but in specific the nurses I had caring for my son, and this anxious mama. Offering to help in so many areas that go above her pay grade and job description truly made this a remarkable experience. Thanks to her dedication, compassion, and commitment to her job, we will forever choose and recommend Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
