Staci is a walking catalyst for change, a breath of fresh air within the VA system.
She is constantly working to optimize patient care.
When there is a barrier to care, Staci asks why and finds creative avenues to not just work around the barrier - she'll find a way to improve a process to ensure that the barrier does not become a barrier for another patient in the future. She is a walking catalyst for change, a breath of fresh air within the VA system.
This attitude led to the creation of a Multiple Sclerosis Interdisciplinary Clinic. It took years of hard work and a clear vision to improve communication between specialty care providers for an incredibly complex patient population, ultimately leading to the creation of this clinic. The MS IDT clinic saw its first three patients in March 2024 and is the first of its kind in the VA Northern California Healthcare System.
She is deeply caring and compassionate towards patients. It is clear in my daily interactions with Staci that she truly cares about each of our patients. She learns about their home life, their connection to family and the community, she is constantly striving to better understand their lives in order to find ways to improve their quality of life.
