He has made such a difference for me, being his sister and knowing that someone genuinely seems like they care and want what is best for him.
Spencer is awesome. My brother S is 37 years old. He is tall and strong and has been a patient at Freodtert for almost a month now. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, with the frontal lobe being affected by this. My brother was in the NICU for ten days and has been on the 2NT unit ever since. He is often agitated and confused. Spencer does excellent work redirecting him and getting him back in the swing of things. He is also easily able to make my brother laugh, which is so good to see. He has made such a difference for me, being his sister and knowing that someone genuinely seems like they care and want what is best for him. Spencer gave my brother an old pair (looks new) of shoes. They wear the same size. My brother has also been asking for his shoes. It was very nice to see the shoes and to find out a nurse had brought them in. It was amazing and almost made me cry. He took the time to get to know my brother and even his shoe size.

He also got my brother a longer phone charger. He was/is kinda stuck in a veil bed because of his TBI and his safety, and Spencer thought about him, knowing that my brother needs or wants something in that bed with him to kind of occupy his time or keep him busy. My brother is able to charge his phone bedside now instead of having it charged at the nursing station.

He’s a very relatable person, and his overall patient-centered care is top-notch. Thanks so much, Spencer, for talking with my brother and making him feel like an actual person. Thank you for caring about my brother. It means so much to me.
