We would like to nominate Sonya for the DAISY Award because of her amazing skills as a triage nurse. Over the past month or so, we have been seeing more acutely ill patients in the clinic. Sonya is very responsive and is willing to go where the patient is located to provide care.

In the past month alone, Sonya has provided care as needed in the waiting room, food pantry, parking lot, etc. She always jumps in and starts assessing the patient before others are able to arrive. She is calm and compassionate during these situations and provides wonderful care.

Sonya also triages patients who walk into the clinic all day.   A patient recently asked to speak to the leadership team. The patient stated that after meeting with Sonya in the clinic, they have decided to re-engage in receiving care here and feel like they are able to trust the medical system again, thanks to Sonya's help.   Sonya has a great attitude and is willing to help other staff in the clinic as needed. We feel so lucky to have Sonya as our triage nurse at Pecar!
