I would like to nominate RN CDR Sondra Jolly, department head and a dedicated Nurse Corps officer, for the DAISY Award. Her unwavering commitment to nursing excellence is evident not only in her leadership but also in the exceptional bedside care she continues to provide to maternal and neonatal patients despite the many responsibilities that come with her position.

It is rare to find a leader who balances administrative duties so effortlessly with hands-on patient care. She leads by example— never hesitating to step in to support her team on the floor, advocate for patients’ needs, and provide the same high level of compassionate, evidence-based care expected of any nurse at the bedside.

What truly sets her apart is her heart for people. She listens. She checks in. She advocates for her staff with genuine concern for our well-being, both professionally and personally. Her presence brings calm during chaos, and her leadership inspires all of us to do and be better.

For her dedication, compassion, and the quiet but powerful way she leads with purpose and kindness, I believe she embodies the true spirit of the DAISY Award.
