It's hard having a child sent to the NICU, even if it's only for a couple of days, and they're relatively healthy. Simone was an actual godsend during a really stressful time. She is so compassionate and took so much time explaining how to care for our new baby. She made us little hearts out of fabric so I could sleep with one and give it to my baby so that she knew my smell, and when she heard we had a dog, she made another one so that we could send it home for her to sniff. Simone taught us how to give our little girl her first bath, and she answered about a million questions from my husband and me. We came down from maternity to the NICU for every feed and it was always nice to see her and chat a little bit, she always knew how to make us smile!
