Silvia demonstrated the perfect balance of sympathy, humor, inquisitiveness, and friendliness.
Silvia is such an amazing nurse. Not only did she provide me with outstanding care to get me ready for my ACL surgery, but she also took the time to get to know me on a personal level. I truly felt not only cared for as a patient, but seen as a human being, as she went above and beyond! I was wearing a shirt with a cross on it from my high school youth group, and she asked me what the logo was on my shirt, to which I shared that it was from a youth group I was part of in high school. We talked about our faith in Jesus, which was amazing and just what I needed before this major surgery! I am truly grateful that there are nurses and caring people like Silvia, and I would recommend her to anyone!

I had a procedure done and was so very worried, as I had never gone in for surgery before. Sylvia was amazing; she walked me through everything that was going to take place and was very gentle with the IV. Fast forward a couple of months, and the procedure did not work, and I needed to come in for a hysterectomy. It was very nice to see Sylvia again. I had a massive panic attack the night prior to surgery and wasn't feeling my best, but she took her time, she remembered me, and it made getting through the pre op procedure very easy. She knew I hated needles, and she took her time to find a vein that would not be in the way of anything, where I could bend and utilize my arm after surgery. She kept my mind off the surgery and made sure I was 100% comfortable. I mentioned being cold, and she gave me the blanket warmer to make sure I was ready for surgery the best way she could. Her calm demeanor in the midst of chaos is wonderful; she's the perfect nurse for a very anxious patient and was able to answer many of my questions for me prior to going into the OR.

My mom is 84 and took a bad fall. She likes to put on a good game face, but we know she is nervous. Silvia was great at communicating with my mom and the family. She took the time to listen to an 84-year-old who enjoys having someone to talk to. Kindness and a warm smile go a long way. She made my mom feel less anxious and more relaxed.

I fell unexpectedly and shattered my knee, requiring surgery. When I arrived for my procedure, I was emotional and fearful. Silvia was a bright, calming presence. She was extremely professional in all of her pre-op tasks, instilling confidence, while at the same time attending to me in a manner that felt personal and caring. She made sure I knew what to expect, recognized and calmed my anxiety, and was cheerful and comforting. I was able to relax and engage in the process in a positive way, thanks to Silvia and the courtesy and professionalism shown by all the medical staff and professionals.

Silvia was not only personable but made the effort to identify particularly with my wife, prior to her surgical procedure, in such a way as to ease her fear. For that, we were both genuinely grateful.

I was so scared about my surgery, and she was so helpful and kind. Gave me surgery tips and life tips. Great nurse!
