Sheryl has been an amazing educator for as long as I can remember. She has been dedicated to HCA and exemplifies the mission, vision and values daily. She has been in charge of the partnership's fetal monitoring program for many years. She is well respected by the staff and works on the floor, helping to bridge the gap when needed, as well as behind the scenes, completing multiple audits and devising educational material.

As a longtime member of her national organization, she encourages others to become AWHONN members and mentors. Sheryl is able to certify others and complete teach-backs in intermediate fetal monitor instruction and advanced fetal monitor instruction. She is the most stable educator and has trained all the other educators in Austin. She sends out weekly education bits and makes sure everything is up-to-date and evidence-based. She is kind-hearted and treats everyone with respect and kindness.

She has helped me to be the best version of myself, as well as many others. She attends AIM several times a year to continually learn and implement new up to date protocols and order sets, focusing her practice on decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality. She designs and executes drills across multiple facilities to improve patient safety every month. When Austin is short on educators, Sheryl will always be there, picking up the slack and helping others to learn with a positive attitude. She goes above and beyond consistently for HCA, other nurses, and our patients.
