She was really invested in my recovery. I told her that I really wanted to get better and that while I'm in her care, I will give 100% to her. She, in turn, said I will give you 100% as well to help make sure you get better. She went well over and beyond. She did physical therapy things with me in between patients. I told my actual physical therapist that I wanted to walk in the direction of Shenell so that she could see me walking for the first time.

Luckily, we crossed paths in the hallway, and her seeing me walking meant so much to me. She even took time before shift change to actually walk with me again back out into the hallway and back to bed. She was more than just my nurse; she was really invested in my recovery, and it showed. She encouraged me and challenged me and pushed me to take another step. She celebrated my little wins with me. She was in my corner, and it showed. She's the type of person who makes a difference at the hospital.
