August 2020 Honoree
shawn zhang, RN
We are grateful to all the nurses who were "able and willing" to provide care for our father and to make him comfortable as much as possible. Of all the nurses, one is vivid in my mind - Shawn Zhang.
Shawn carries a very big smile regardless of the time of his shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
Shawn demonstrates the following to the patient:
1) "of course," I am here to help you.
2) He carefully and gently lifts dad to lay on the bed.
3) Being available "anytime" and "all the time."
Shawn demonstrates the following to the family:
1) Keep family members abreast of what is going on.
2) Working with the family member to make it work for the patient (father), even protocol may be slightly out of ordinary/familiar.
