My brother had a very difficult health care situation and was ordered to receive home care upon discharge. This nurse was assigned to my brother from day one and demonstrated skilled, compassionate care and consistently advocated for his patient by making sure his visits were timed in correlation to pain management. He was very gentle in providing tedious wound care, always explaining what and why he was performing a procedure and keeping the doctor abreast of any concerns. This expert and professional care resulted in a healing process of not only his body, but also his spirit. This nurse deserves this recognition because this is how he practices our profession on a daily basis to all of his patients.
