It is with immense gratitude that I nominate Nurse Shauniecia Desravines for the DAISY Award. During one of the most difficult and traumatic experiences our family has ever endured, she provided extraordinary care that went far beyond her clinical responsibilities. From the moment she cared for my father, she treated him with exceptional compassion, dignity, and respect. She didn't just see him as a patient—she saw him as a person. Every interaction reflected genuine kindness, patience, and a deep commitment to ensuring he was comfortable and cared for.

What made the greatest impact on our family was the peace of mind Shauniecia gave us. Leaving my father at the hospital overnight was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. However, knowing he was under her care made an unbearable situation feel just a little easier. We trusted her completely, and that trust allowed us to leave knowing he was safe, cared for, and never alone.

Shauniecia consistently went above and beyond to support not only my father but our entire family. She answered our questions with patience, anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and offered comfort during moments of fear and uncertainty.
