Shauna Millar, RN

If there are angels here on earth, Shauna is undoubtedly one of them. She came into our lives after a sudden C-section delivery, just when we learned that one of our twins was not going to survive. Shauna has been a true comfort to us in the storm. We are so grateful that she was floated to the SDU to be my postpartum nurse so that we could meet her and know her as we navigated the subsequent 2.5 months at CHOP. Thank goodness Shauna is so knowledgeable and connected around the hospital. She informed us of many services and resources available immediately for our daughters and helped us put into motion baptisms for the girls as well as the creation of several memorial keepsakes that we will treasure forever. She even used her own time to run back and forth between the CICU and NIICU to help us get both girls' handprints onto keepsakes as surprises for us. As a 'SWOT' nurse, we had the fortune of continuing to see Shauna in the CICU and NIICU as well, and her presence always provided us with a sense of positivity and calm. Even when she wasn't "assigned" to us, she made a point to see us and to make us feel supported - always remembering us and showing deep compassion for us. Shauna is the kind of person who just instills confidence in patients - that she has everything under control. She embodies the philosophy of surprise and delight and is a true blessing. We really can't emphasize enough how grateful and blessed we feel to have met Shauna.
