She dedicated herself with compassion and true empathic skill to meet our needs as a family to ensure the experience of my husband's death was as peaceful and un-traumatic as possible.
My husband collapsed suddenly whilst at the gym due to a cardiac arrest.  He was 51 years old, slim, fit, and healthy. He went out as normal on a Saturday morning to one of his favourite places and never came back.

Despite a week of compassionate care by all the staff on the critical care unit, my husband's condition was too grave to recover. The brain injuries caused by post-arrest cerebral hypoxia were incompatible with life.

The shock and trauma of this tragic experience and news were overwhelming.  How would my autistic son cope and understand all of this?

Whilst my husband was dying, Sister Sharon Cary went above and beyond her call of duty to care for him, me, and our son. She dedicated herself with compassion and true empathic skill to meet our needs as a family to ensure the experience of my husband's death was as peaceful and un-traumatic as possible.

Sharon's demeanour is genuinely kind, nurturing, and expert in the care of the dying and their family.  If it weren't for her, my son and I wouldn't have coped as well as we did.  We are thankful she was in our lives at this tragic time.

Thank you forever, Sharon, we will never forget you and what you did for us during this difficult time.
