Shannon was right there with me the whole time. She was very polite, informative, caring, and gentle. Shannon was very positive and encouraging, especially when I was so exhausted and was about to give up.
I came into PeaceHealth medical center to get induced to have my baby. As a 6th-time maternity patient at PeaceHealth, I really would like to take time to acknowledge a nurse I had during labor: Shannon Ringhalda. All the nurses I had were friendly and professional. However, Shannon was "Above and Beyond!!" From the very first greeting, I sensed that caring tone! She was very caring and patient. As anyone can imagine how painful and sometimes dreary the labor can get...and I felt it took forever! As I came into the room, Shannon asked if I had a birth plan, I really didn't, except for I wanted to try and go without an epidural, as I've had complications with epidurals before. Shannon was right there with me the whole time. She was very polite, informative, caring, and gentle. Shannon was very positive and encouraging, especially when I was so exhausted and was about to give up. She reassured me that I can do this and encouraged me every step of the way. It truly takes a person with heart to do what Shannon does. She was very calm and again very positive. A few times when I was checked for dilation progress and it was barely moving forward, I almost cried and just kept looking at the clock and complaining. Shannon would find just the right words to say to lift me up and encourage me! As I was getting closer to delivery, she took the time to explain how to breathe and how to push, what to do and what not to do. I felt Shannon was God sent to me that day! I had my baby at 6:58 pm that day! Shannon was right there guiding me and explaining every detail. Thank you so much, Shannon! I'm forever grateful for your kind and caring heart!! Shannon came back the next day just to say hello, and she noticed me struggling with the nursing. She noticed my problem and quickly guided me. Again, she was right there at the right moment! I can't explain all the details, but it takes a very dedicated caring heart to care for people that way!! Shannon Ringhalda really deserves to be recognized as an Extraordinary Nurse!! Thank you, Shannon!
