Shannon is a significant factor in all of the positive changes in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Our quality metrics have improved because of her accountability as our manager, and are currently some of the best in the hospital. She is readily available to her staff. She is well respected.

She always has creative ideas for staff recognition. She has a listening ear when needed. Shannon even helps turn patients, check chemo, toilet them, walk with them, etc. She does not miss a beat! The fear of speaking up has declined in our unit. This is due to Shannon’s leadership.

True leaders do not create followers. They create more leaders.’ This quote is an example of what sets Shannon apart from the rest. Shannon has really cultivated my learning as a nurse and has helped shape me into a better leader.

Shannon is always positive. She always sees the good in people or a situation, which is very inspiring to many. I am eternally thankful for Shannon’s leadership. She deserves this recognition.
