Shannon has a rare ability to make people feel valued, supported, and cared for, even on the toughest days.
I am honored to nominate Shannon for her first DAISY Award because she is the kind of nurse who changes lives — not just through her clinical skills, but through her heart. Shannon is always willing to help, no matter how heavy the shift or how busy the unit is. When she is Charge, she doesn’t just lead — she shows up. She is present, attentive, and deeply invested in both her patients and her coworkers. You never feel alone when Shannon is on the floor. During some of my hardest moments at work, Shannon has been my safe place. She has comforted me when I was overwhelmed, hugged me when I needed reassurance, and given me those real, loving “big sister” talks that reminded me of my strength when I was struggling to see it myself. Her kindness feels genuine, not rushed or forced — it comes from who she truly is. Shannon has a rare ability to make people feel valued, supported, and cared for, even on the toughest days. She leads with compassion, empathy, and grace, and her presence alone can change the entire energy of a shift. She reminds me why nursing matters and why caring for people goes far beyond tasks and checklists. Shannon is an incredible nurse, an amazing leader, and a beautiful human being. She deserves to be recognized for the difference she makes every single day — often without even realizing how much she means to those around her. Thank you, Shannon, for being exactly who you are.
