I am honored to nominate Shannon Brown for the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. Shannon has been a foundation for the Alexian Brothers ministries and the community that we have the privilege of serving. In her tenure, she has held numerous roles and provided care to patients and their families during the most joyous times and also through the most heartbreaking events one can imagine. She has supported nursing development and education, administrative responsibilities, and been supportive in every role that her departments have ever needed or asked of her. Besides being an amazing clinician, educator, leader, confidant, and colleague, she is also one of the most amazing and genuine human beings I have ever come in contact with. She greets everyone she meets with a smile and a genuine ask of how they are doing and what she can do to help and support them. She is an amazing role model for all nurses and exemplifies what it means to hold this profession as a true vocation. She is the epitome of a nurse; she believes in what she does, and she inspires others to do the best work that they can do. She instills confidence in others and is simply amazing. I would like to take the time to review all of Shannon‘s responsibilities and the different roles she performs; however, there’s not enough time to cover all that! She truly is someone who can do any and everything for this organization. I am beyond grateful for Shannon, the work that she’s done, and the work that she will continue to do. She is most deserving of this Award. We are a better organization because of Shannon Brown.
