Today, I was emotionally just ready to go home. But because I was told not yet, I was crying and just needed positive uplifting.

Shania was my nurse and waltzed in to give me my meds and received an earful from me. She stood there and listened and allowed me to cry. I felt heard, supported, and most of all understood.

As a nurse, Shania could have cut me short, not intentionally, but due to responsibility. I won’t forget how someone took the time for me. I nominate Shania because she is for the patients. She serves as one who understands all patients, all vulnerable, with different needs. She did not desert the patient; she served the patient. I pray for continued blessings over the entire staff here at Henry Ford Warren Hospital.
