September 2026 Honoree
Shadiya Suleiman Ege Fahiye, MSN, RN
Seventeen years of dedicated service is a true reflection of compassion, professionalism, resilience, and quiet leadership with continuity of beautiful smile.
She began her journey as an intern nurse, and from the start, something about her was special. Patients quickly recognized her genuine compassion and caring nature. Patients would specifically request her to be assigned to care for them because they trusted her, they felt safe with her, and her smile is giving more feeling of security.
As she progressed into the role of Charge Nurse, her leadership qualities became even more evident. Her team would be happy to see her name assigned as their charge nurse because they knew she would be supportive, present, fair, and dependable. She supports her team through difficult shifts while maintaining a quiet, professional approach and never losing sight of patient safety and quality care.
One of her greatest achievements is the number of leaders she has helped develop throughout her career. Many of the nurses she supported, guided, and mentored are now serving as Nurse Managers and Charge Nurses.
Today, she leads one of the most challenging departments, where every day brings new, complex patient-care challenges. One remarkable aspect of her leadership is her ability to work effectively in a highly demanding, multidisciplinary environment. Every day, she faces new challenges and difficult situations involving physicians, patients, and operational demands. Yet, through her professionalism, strong communication skills, clinical expertise, and calm approach, she successfully manages these challenges, builds collaboration, resolves conflicts constructively, and keeps the pressure, she remains composed, respected, and in control, earning the trust of both her nursing team and the physicians she works along.
In her current department, she continues to embrace every challenge and every new KPIs with the same determination she has demonstrated through her career.
Through all these years, every role, every difficult shift, every challenging patient, and every responsibility she has carried, one thing has never changed: her beautiful smile.
