June 2026 Honoree
Sergio Becerra, BSN, RN
I was in a very bad car wreck. I've had to have my leg amputated. Infection was building up and i have been very afraid of dying from infection, or just about my future as an amputee.
Sergio is as good as it gets in the nursing field. He is so kind and compassionate. He was very prompt every time I needed him. He stood by my bed, explaining everything going on with me. He never forgot to bring back something I asked for.
He is so respectful, and his bedside manner makes me feel better just by him walking into the room. It was comforting having him in my room with my life in his hands. I haven't wanted another nurse on his shift but him.
My wife was in the crash with me. She has a fractured sternum. She's been spending every night beside my bed, and Sergio treated her so kindly and has gotten her the help she's needed with me in here and has been so compassionate to what we are going through.
We have severe mental trauma, and Sergio has spent all of his free time in here, listening to us cry, helping us to process this life-altering event. We love Sergio.
Thank you, Sergio, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
