As a family member, I cannot fully express how grateful I am for the care these nurses provided during one of the most frightening and uncertain times of our lives. Watching someone you love fight through a traumatic injury is an experience filled with fear, helplessness, and countless unknowns. While there were many things beyond anyone’s control, these nurses focused on what they could control—and that made all the difference.
Selina’s patience and willingness to educate brought a unique sense of comfort to both my husband and our family. She didn’t simply perform their clinical responsibilities; she treated him with dignity, kindness, and genuine compassion.
She anticipated his needs, stayed on top of his medications and comfort, answered our questions with patience, and helped us understand what to expect during an incredibly overwhelming time. As family members, we often felt powerless. Knowing that these nurses were caring for him as if he were their own loved one gave us moments of peace in the middle of chaos.
Selina's calm presence, reassuring words, and unwavering professionalism reminded us that we were not facing this journey alone. Healthcare is about more than medicine—it is about humanity. Although they could not change the circumstances that brought us to the ICU, they changed our experience within it. Her compassion, empathy, and dedication gave our family hope, comfort, and strength when we needed it most.
We will never forget the difference Selina made during one of the hardest chapters of our lives. She is a true reflection of what exceptional nursing care looks like, and we are forever grateful for the impact she had on our family.
