Savannah Peerman, BSN, RN

I would like to nominate Savannah from the Med-Surg unit for a DAISY Award because of the amazing care she gave my mom during her hospital stay. Having a loved one in the hospital is scary, but Savannah made such a difference for our family from the very beginning. She treated my mom with so much kindness, patience, and respect, and she always made sure she was comfortable and cared for. No matter how busy the nurses seemed, Savannah never made us feel like we were just another room. She always took the time to explain things clearly to my mom and to our family, which helped ease a lot of anxiety during a difficult time.

What stood out most to me was how genuine and compassionate she was. She would check on my mom often, make sure her pain was managed, and even take a few extra moments just to talk with her and make her smile when she was feeling overwhelmed. One night in particular, my mom was having a really hard time emotionally and physically, and Savannah sat with her, reassured her, and made sure she felt safe and heard. That level of compassion meant more to us than I can fully put into words. Savannah truly cared for my mom as a person, not just a patient. Our family will never forget the comfort and support she gave us during such a stressful time.
